Historical Yogis believed that for people to be in harmony with by themselves, & their surrounding natural environment, a balanced integration of body, mind & spirit was important. Yoga deals with this by utilizing a combination of Meditation techniques, Yoga Exercises & Breathing Methods, with the goals of attaining serenity, spiritual insight or self-improvement.

The modern western approach to yoga is not using any specific belief and religious beliefs, however, Yoga does have it is rooted in Hinduism & Brahmanism. Yoga was made by seers & ascetics living basically in the southern parts of India. The seers identified nature & lived since close like they could to the earth, finding out how the many aspects of nature, the pets and animals or them-selves. By observing & emulating the other postures & habits of the animal kingdom these were able to develop beautify, strength and wisdom.


The eight limbs are as follows:

  1. Yama
  2. Niyama
  3. Asana
  4. Pranayama
  5. Prtyahra
  6. Dharana
  7. Dhyana samadhi
